Social impact has remained a profound way to create awareness and reach marginalized people and communities. The CED Foundation had the privilege to visit LEA Primary School Iddo Sarki AMAC, Abuja. We were also saddened to learn that many of the students are not able to attend school regularly because they have to work to help support their families. We decided to help the school by providing them with much-needed supplies.
As part of our visit, we not only taught engaging lessons but also distributed much-needed school materials, such as notebooks, sanitary pads, tissues, school shoes, and stationery supplies. We donated money to the school to help pay for pupils who couldn’t afford to pay for basic fees and other expenses. These resources were a luxury for many students who were accustomed to sharing limited resources or going without them altogether. The excitement in the air was palpable as students eagerly received their new supplies, their eyes lit up with hope and courage.
One of our key programs is child education, we advocate for child-centered education that recognizes each child’s unique needs, abilities, and interests. We believe that education is a fundamental right and a powerful tool for empowering children and breaking the cycle of poverty.
During the lesson, a junior student named Faridah Yusuf was very excited and settled in to learn from our team. Faridah’s enthusiasm and hunger for knowledge were evident. She actively participated, asked insightful questions, and displayed a genuine thirst for learning. It was clear that she had untapped potential waiting to be nurtured. The team was immensely inspired by her determination and eagerness to make the most of the opportunity presented to her.
The HeadTeacher of the school gave this remark about Faridah ‘’Over time, we noticed Faridah’s progress accelerating. With the newfound resources, she was able to deepen her understanding of various subjects. Her grades began to improve, and her confidence soared. Encouraged by her success, she started to set higher academic goals for herself, aspiring to pursue higher education and break free from the limitations imposed by her circumstances.’’
The impact of our visit extended far beyond Faridah’s individual journey. The school itself underwent a positive transformation. The availability of school materials empowered the teachers to deliver more comprehensive and engaging lessons. Students were motivated to attend classes regularly, knowing they had the tools to participate actively in their education. The overall atmosphere became one of optimism and possibility.
Moreover, the impact rippled into the community. Faridah’s remarkable progress caught the attention of her classmates and friends. They, too, began to recognize the importance of education and its potentials. As a result, there was a renewed emphasis on education within the community, leading to increased enrollment and a collective commitment to providing the necessary support for students to thrive.
After visiting the school to teach and provide materials, the team had the incredible opportunity to witness firsthand the transformative power of education and the lasting impact it can have on both individuals and communities.
The impact on Faridah and Sarah’s story is just one of many that highlight the significance of providing educational resources and teaching support to underserved communities. It demonstrates that even small efforts can spark significant change, empowering individuals to transcend their circumstances and become agents of transformation themselves. By investing in education, we can create a ripple effect that reaches far beyond the confines of a single classroom, shaping a brighter future for generations to come.
